John D. Simmons

John D. Simmons, 73, of Iuka passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mr. Simmons was retired from the maintence department at Henkel in Kankakee, IL. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the reorganized church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints.

Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Sandra Simmons of Iuka; one son, John (Lynnette) Simmons Jr. of Kansas City, MO; three grandchildren, Nichole Simmons of Overland Park, KS, Brooklyn Simmons of Kankakee, IL, Zachary Simmons of Kansas City, MO; one great-granddaughter, Bristol Miner of Kankakee, IL; and one brother-in-law, Billy Patton of Benton, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Simmons and Juanell S. Simmons; and one sister, Sandy Patton.

Friends may visit the family from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Smith Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services and burial will take place at a later date under the direction of Clancy- Gernon Funeral Home in Kankakee, IL.
