Thomas Denton Champion

Thomas (Tommy) Champion, 75, of Smithland, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Champion was born in Paducah, KY on January 28, 1943 to Mr.  & Mrs. Bernie Champion.

Mr. Champion graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1961. He was a Farmer.  He enjoyed hunting, farming, fishing, riding horses, and coaching baseball.  He was a member of Iuka Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Katie Champion; two children, Zack (Brittnie) Champion of Smithland and Tara Lee (Keith) Woodall of Smithland; three grandchildren, Noel Hodge, Autumn Tramble and Laina Tait Champion; one great-grandchild, Nyxxan Logsdon; one sister, BernLen “Sally” (Steve) Lovett of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Helen Smith Champion.

Funeral services will be held at Smith Funeral Chapel Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Nick Forsythe officiating.  Burial will follow at The Champion Family Farm Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the funeral home.
