Donald Harold Blake of Ledbetter, Kentucky age 84 passed away at his home on Friday, May 8, 2020.
Mr. Blake was a son of the late Ernest Edwin and May Carver Blake.
He is survived by his son Donald Blake, Jr and his wife Christy of Paducah, KY and stepdaughter, Serena Stalion of Paducah, KY. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Bruce Hubbard and Nellie and Curtis Todd, along with many family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Samantha Blake.
He was preceded in death by by siblings: brother, Charles Earl Blake; brother, Edward Lee Blake; brother, Fred Dwight Blake; brother Larry Jack Blake; sister, Kathleen Blake David; and sister, Elizabeth Mae Blake Lewis and by children: step-son, Dennis Ray Sullenger; step-daughter, Nyoka Sullenger; and daughter, Donna Sue Tucker. Mr. Blake grew up in Huntington, West Virginia before moving to Kentucky.
He was retired from the river as a Chief Engineer with R & W Marine on the boat City of Paducah. His passions were hunting and fishing and attending auctions. Many evenings he could be found on Paducah's riverfront fishing.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to charities of the Good Ol' Boys, 1923 Allen Street, Paducah, KY 42001.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
