Elizabeth “Liz” Dietz Skinner

Elizabeth “Liz” Dietz Skinner, 87 of Smithland went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Salem Springlake Rehabilitation Center.

Surviving are four children, Alice (Barnell) Doom of Tiline, Benny Dietz of Smithland, Terry (Susan) Dietz of Paducah, and Carl (Ginger) Dietz of Tiline; one sister, Virginia (Frank) Brewington of Smithland; eight grandchildren, Deborah (Gerald) Stepp, Christy Henson, Amber Barbarash, and Drew, Grayson, Chandler, Zeth and Noah Dietz; two great grandchildren, Keaton New and Payton Henson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Dietz and Rudell Skinner; four brothers, Earnest, Will, John and Jim Gray; and one sister, Anna White. Her parents were Henry and Bessie Gray.

Liz loved her work as a driver for Meals On Wheels with PACS, and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Smithland. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and also enjoyed fishing, camping and talking with friends on her CB radio, all of whom knew her as “Tennessee Belle”.

Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, with Bro. Bill Talley and Bro. Benny Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Smithland Cemetery.

Friends may call between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm Tuesday, and after 9:00 am Wednesday, at the funeral home.
