John Downs

John Downs, 59, of Smithland passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Downs was shop foreman with Hunter Marine in Paducah. He also worked 29 years for Mid-South Towing Company in Paducah. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two brothers, Billy Downs of Smithland, Kenneth (Daphenia) Downs of Marion; three sisters, Linda (Richard) Lasher of Jeffersonville, IN , Beverly (Eddie) Shaffer of Smithland, Sherri Hopkins of Paducah; several aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Downs and Gladys Jean McDonald Downs of Smithland.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Gordan Downs and Mike Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in Smithland Cemetery.
Friends may call or visit from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday evening at the funeral home.
