Lemar Jones

Lemar Ray Jones, age 71, of Smithland passed away Sunday at 5:30 pm at his residence.

Mr. Jones attended Smithland Second Baptist Church and retired as a Boilermaker with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Local 40, having recently received his 45 year pin.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Faughn Jones; three daughters, Shirley (Larry) Henson, Rita Cain, and Tina (Doug) Kaufman, all of Smithland; and one special grandson, Nolan Cain of Smithland. He is also survived by three brothers, Virgil Jones Jr. and Thomas Jones, both of Smithland, and Donnie Jones of Ledbetter; as well as his twin sister, Joy Fay Archambeault of Murray; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ellen Gaines Jones.

Services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, with the Rev. Jack Kee officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Livingston County.

Visitation will be Wednesday after 4:00 pm and Thursday after 9:00 am, at the funeral home. Boilermaker rites will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm; with Masonic rites following at 7:00 pm.
