Biography

Bro. Willaus Guess, 81, of Smithland died Wednesday at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Mr. Guess was the Minister of Mint Springs Baptist Church in Tiline, Owner of G and G Auto Sales in Smithland 13 years, ran the Chevron Garage 40 years in Smithland, Army Veteran of Korea War and Member of the Smithland Masonic Lodge#138, He was a Minister 45 years.

Surviving are one son, Eddie (Randa Kay) Guess of Smithland, one daughter, Debbie Guess of Calvert City, one granddaughter, Addie Marie Guess of Smithland, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lee Guess and Addie Melinda Brasher Guess; wife, Lila Crouch Guess, five brothers, two sisters.

Services will be at 2:00pm Saturday at Smithland Second Baptist Church, 1057 US 60 West Smithland, KY with Bro. C.C. Brasher and Bro. Fred Lowrance officiating. Burial will follow at Groves Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors.

Friends may call after 4:00 until 8:00 Friday at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland and Saturday 8:00 until 12:30 at the Smith Funeral Chapel, 1:00 until 2:00 Saturday at the Church.

Donations may be made to the Gideons. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
