Obituary


Susan Cooke Cates, 71 of Marion, KY.  Formerly of Schereville, IN.  Passed away Saturday July 30, 2022 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center of Paducah.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Conger of Marion and Ashley (Justin) Wood of Smithland,  One sister, Penny Jankovich of Crown Point, IN. ; one sister in law, Patty Cooke of Hammond, Ind.; Two brothers, Dan (Joy) Cooke of Sparta, TN. and Ted (Pattie) Cooke of Whidbey Island, WA.; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her very dear friend, Charlie Nesbitt. 


She was preceded in death by her parents William and Kathleen Cooke; her husband, Joe Cooke; and two children, Jenny Cates Day and Jason Cates.

Friend may visit with the family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday August 5. 2022 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, Kentucky with memorial services to follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ross Atwell officiating.
