Victor Edward Phillips Sr., 71, of Burna, Kentucky, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 1:18 am.
Victor had seven siblings, Reta Guthrie, Sheila Box, Maryann Wheeler, Junior, Richard, Jennifer and Marsha Phillips. Victor joined the Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War where he was honorable discharged in 1971 after receiving several medals including the Purple Heart. He married Jeana Lee at Metropolis, Illinois on May 12, 1982. Three sons joined this union, Victor Jr. “Petey”, Chad, and Brandon Phillips. Victor drove as an over the road truck driver for 28 years, before that he drove a trailway bus along with his dad and sister. Victor was a member of Smithland Second Baptist Church.
Victor is survived by his wife, Jeana; sons Brandon, Chad, and Billy Phillips, and Eddie Ray McDonald; siblings Reta (Larry) Guthrie, Sheila (Allan) Box, Junior Phillips; daughter-in-law Deana; several nieces and nephews; and one very special granddaughter, Adalyn Rose Phillips that loved her Pawpaw very much.
Preceding Victor in death are his parents, William “Bill” and Maxine Phillips; one son, Petey; three siblings, Maryann, Richard, and Marsha; and niece Punkin.
A funeral service for Victor will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Smithland Second Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Jennings officiating. Burial and military honors will follow at Dixon Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family at the church from 11:00 am to service hour Monday.
